Last Monday, July 18th, 2016, I attended a dear friend’s wedding, and It was lovely and very intimate one. It’s hard not to be emotional. At some point both in the church ceremony and reception, I can’t hold back tears, because it was indeed a true celebration of the union of two hearts and families.
I have my own ideal wedding but I won’t spill that here as that’s not the purpose of this blog post, but let’s talk more of when and how a wedding becomes extra special. What should any couple think and prepare more if they’re about to tie the knot?
1. You make sure that when you receive the matrimony of marriage, you are ready physically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, and financially.
2. There is no need actually for all the trimmings. Go for a wedding that you can only afford, don’t show off. Remember that what you need to prepare is your life after the celebration.
3. Make sure to make it an intimate wedding. Only invite people that are really your friends and family in the real sense of the word. What could be a more beautiful way to celebrate it than to spend it with the people you both love, right?
4. Make it personal. If you’re getting a Wedding Coordinator, make sure to involve yourself down to the smallest details. From the church, what music to play, reception venue, food, and other things. The theme and the celebration should reflect both your personality. It’s your wedding after all.
5. Less is more. Make sure to highlight the most important element of a wedding. In last week’s wedding. I saw how they highlighted the church ceremony itself, the exchange of warm welcome both for the bride and groom’s family, the father’s speeches [Which leaves almost everyone in tears]. It was simple yet meaningful for both sides. They opt for fewer activities for the reception and only highlighted those that are most important. That makes it more beautiful and meaningful celebration of love.
6. Most importantly, bring with you, your whole heart, your whole mind, and your soul. 🙂
Weddings are a beautiful celebration of two hearts becoming one. 🙂
It’s all about LOVE and only LOVE. 🙂
